Iceland 1934 – Monoplane and aurora
This pair of stamps depicts an aircraft in front of a ribbon-like aurora,
although at first glance it might look like a cloud or a plume of gas from the
volcano rather than an aurora. It is the earliest depiction of an aurora on
stamps that I am aware of.
